Reach Your Fruit and Vegetable Daily Goal

Summertime produce is plentiful, economical and enjoyable, making it easy to eat the at least 5 fruits or veggies a day!

Tomatoes, corn, lettuce, peaches, melons and berries are so enjoyable that including them in your eating plan can be easy. If you aren't used to eating lots of fruits and vegetables, here are some ways you can achieve variety with produce. Try:

•  A chicken salad with tomato and cucumber slices, feta cheese and vinaigrette dressing
•  Whole-grain cereal topped with blueberries and skim milk
•  Steamed corn mixed with black beans and salsa for a side dish, dip or salad
•  Cantaloupe with low-fat frozen yogurt or a smoothie made with fresh berries and frozen yogurt.
•  Keep a bowl of fresh sliced fruit in your refrigerator for a easy to grab snack
