What is an insulin pump?
An insulin pump is a beeper-size device
that delivers insulin in place of a needle and syringe. The device,
worn outside of the body, uses a piece of plastic tubing which is
inserted into the skin on the belly or the hip. The pump delivers
a continuous infusion of insulin through the tubing to replicate
the human pancreas.
